Mary J. Blige will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards

Mary J. Blige is one of the most acclaimed RNB singers in the world, and BET is ready to recognize her legacy. 

Mary J. Blige has been in the music industry longer than most singers. Her music has managed to span generations as she delivers hit album after hit album. With her longevity in the industry, she has also accomplished more than most singers. It has been announced that she will make another accomplishment. According to HipHopdx, Mary J. Blige will be receiving a lifetime achievement award at the next BET Awards.

Bet released this statement following the announcement:

“With a career of landmark achievements, including eight multi-platinum albums, nine Grammy Awards (plus a staggering 32 nominations), two Academy Award nominations, two Golden Globe nominations and a SAG nomination, Mary J. Blige has remained a figure of inspiration, transformation and empowerment, making her one of the defining voices of the contemporary music era, and she has cemented herself as a global superstar. And in the ensuing years, the singer-songwriter has attracted an intensely loyal fan base, responsible for propelling worldwide sales of more than 50 million albums.”
