Today’s Character of Colour of the Day is New Orleans restauranteur, Ms. Tiana, Princess of Maldonia.
Tiana was the first Black Princess Disney ever created, her story centred around being a hard working woman with a single minded goal to start the restaurant her and her father dreamed of when she was young.
As she grows up she works harder and harder to make her dreams a reality. Working two jobs, caring for her mother and friend Lottie. We can all relate to the scene where Tiana plops down into bed after coming home from job 1 and only having time to blink before she’s out the door again.
