With Aries season being right around the corner and marking a fresh start to the astrological cycle, it’s time we try something new as well. So let me introduce to you all our astrology and entertainment series! Every month we’ll partner with an astrologer of colour to give you an all-purpose reading for the sign-in question, as well as a watchlist of shows and films that we think fit the spirit of the sign that you should check out.

Reading: Aries experiences a boost in ego when the Sun conjuncts Jupiter in their sign, but when the Sun conjuncts Chiron, there is an identity and/or personality wound that must be tended to that may be connected to the relationship with the father or a male figure. This wound is creating obstacles to your happiness and success, and it must be addressed. Aries season is all about survival.

Suggested Show based on reading: Ted Lasso
Aries Traits: Tenacious, Bold, Individualistic
Tenacious: Aries placements are tenacious as hell. Being ruled by Mars give them almost inhuman tough skin, just like the characters in these shows/movies.

All of the characters in these shows/movies are tenacious in the face of adversity. Whether that’s Chris Gardner (Will Smith) facing homelessness in The Pursuit of Happyness, any of the many characters fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse in The Walking Dead, or Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) making their way through a post-apocalyptic United States fighting to survive a never-ending pandemic in The Last of Us. These characters never give up, and neither do Aries placements.
Bold: Aries are not only ruled by Mars but being fire signs makes them very bold and daring, just like these characters.

Not only are the characters in Lady Bird, Shameless, and Orange is the new Black all incredibly bold, the movie/shows themselves are bold. All of these had an incredible impact not only on the media that followed but also on culture at large. They all received cultural and critical acclaim due to the effect their characters had on the audience. All three of these pieces of media took incredible risks that paid off in huge ways. Aries are not only bold like these characters but also like these shows, sometimes they can be misunderstood like these characters. However, those who get Aries, get it, and those who don’t, don’t. Their loss.
Individualistic: Aries stand out amongst their peers and leave a lasting impression just like these characters.

Something that Creed, Atlanta, and Better Call Saul all have in common is how individualistic the characters and movies/shows are. Creed and Better Call Saul follow stories we thought we knew but didn’t fully show us characters who are so impactful and uniquely themselves. Atlanta is a show that stands out from its peers because it follows characters we have not seen before. These pieces of media continue to have such a huge impact on the industry and culture because of how incredibly unique the characters’ stories are. These characters, just like Aries, are not like anyone else we’ve seen before, they will always stand out whether they want to or not.
