What to Watch This Taurus Season

Every month, we’ll partner with an astrologer of colour to give you an all-purpose reading for the sign-in question, as well as a watchlist of shows and films that we think fit the spirit of the sign that you should check out.

Reading:

This season is truly jam-packed with twists and turns, which on the surface, seems to go against the nature of the fixed sign Taurus. The Taurus New Moon on the 20th calling the collective to set intentions on what we truly desire to manifest in our lives, ultimately urging us to make a wish and examine what dreams we want to see fully come to fruition. Worth noting: Taurus season kicks off with Mercury going retrograde in Taurus on April 21st.

We can expect the usual layer confusion, need to slow down, and cross our T’s and dot our I’s that a Mercury retrograde brings for the majority of Taurus season. This retrograde is leading up to a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus’s sister sign, Scorpio, on May 5th. These energies will urge the collective to do some deep introspection on where the beliefs and values that we hold on to so tightly originate and how our subconscious emotions have informed these belief systems.

With Venus entering Cancer on the 7th, the collective will feel the urge for deeper personal connections. This transit amplifies the need for important connections in our lives to evoke a sense of home and belonging to help really process all of the seemingly new emotions stirred up from the past eclipse. We are called to look at the boundaries we hold with others and how our inner transformations can affect our outer reality… if we choose to dig that deep. Taurus Season may seem to be a tad intense, not all is lost. We end Taurus season with one more bang with Mercury going direct on the 14th, Jupiter entering Taurus on the 16th, and Mars entering Leo on May 20th.

By the end of Taurus season, the collective will either feel confident and energized to take clear, creative action towards their dreams and goals (some of them new) or be left frustrated and restless due to suppressing or stubbornly ignoring the transformation Taurus season is pushing the collective towards. Thank goodness the informed choice is ours to make, and hopefully, we can all navigate Taurus season with grace and ease.

Suggested Show Based on Reading:

Taurus Season reading recommendation: TV poster for the Hulu show UnPrisioned starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo. The two are standing side by side. Lindo on the left and Washington on the right with her elbow propped up on his shoulder.

Watching Unprisoned, which stars and is produced by the amazing Kerry Washington, is a sure way to be inspired by this reading. Just like this reading, the characters in this show are thrown into a messy situation that turns their lives upside down. The situation? Paige’s father moves in with her and her son after getting released from prison. Just like the characters in this show, the only way for us to get through something difficult is by being genuine and letting it change us for the better. Everything is not in our control, but we can control how react.

Taurus Traits: Stubborn, Sensual, Loyal

Stubborn

Every one of these characters is incredibly stubborn. On one had is the cute stubborn like the new witch Kiki. On the other, a deadly assassin stubborn like Lou or John Wick. Just like these characters, Tauruses never give up. They will die over a principle before admitting they are wrong. Now, don’t judge them; they rarely are wrong. Tauruses, however, would do well to take help from others every now and then. Allowing themselves to leave their comfort zone from time to time will make their lives easier.

Sensual

Do not forget that Tauruses are ruled by Venus, known in Roman and Greek mythology (Aphrodite) as the goddess of love and beauty. Tauruses are all about the beauties that life can offer, namely pleasure. As pleasure-focused individuals, those with Taurus placements appreciate the finer things in life. Good food, travel, or rest, it doesn’t matter. When you see something sensual, you’ll find a Taurus close behind. These shows are a great way to tap into your sensuality. They can inspire you to prioritize your sex life and build your own sex room. Learn to cook a delicious meal with Selena Gomez from world-renowned chefs. Cuddle up with a partner and let the sexual tension that is Bridgerton inspire you to create some tension of your own. If I were you, I’d try all three!

Loyal

The characters in these shows are ridiculously loyal to their family. Whether that family is the one they were born in or one they created, they will do anything for the ones they love. Tauruses are the same. They may have their ups and downs in their relationships and they greatly value those closest to them. The definition of a ride-or-die!

Jonathan Bailey: This heartthrob oozes Taurus sensuality, especially in Bridgerton, where he stole all of our hearts as Anthony. Watch him steal all of our hearts again next year in Wicked (2024) as Fiyero.
